arty, trendy, edgy and fun - in the heart of Brick Lane the Old Truman Brewery stands as a meeting place and home to all that is cool in east london.

the bars, cafes, shops, markets and galleries that are within its confines are all worth a visit

i've seen numerous exhibitions down here and it's a great place to hang out

They made a Jim Carrey movie here. "The Trumans Show."

The old Truman Brewery has so much history as it used to be one of the great breweries of the UK. Now the space has been turned into a event center and part-time Market stall and that really works as well. So on every level this is really cool both for the history and the current use of the space.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning when they were having an Asian food fare (East Asian, that is). Lots of different cuisines, like Chinese, Japanese, Viet, Thai, and Himalayan. They do a good job transforming this space, because the next day they were preparing for a trade show.

I visited the Old Truman Brewery for the London Coffee Festival and after visiting last year and being offered a VIP Press ticket this year, I couldn't wait to be back. The huge structure of the Brewery lends itself perfectly to events like the festival and its being a fairly simple layout allows for an interesting setup for the exhibitors and traders.
I imagine your experience of this place would vary considerably depending on what it is that you're visiting for but I've loved the Coffee Festival both years now and definitely think the venue is perfect for it. Only a 4/5 review as I've not experienced the Brewery for anything other than the Coffee festival.
Highlights for me were the Coffee Masters Latte Art Competition; the Bailey's Bar serving Coffee Freakshakes made in collaboration with Molly Bakes and the various stalls selling baked goods: Crosstown Doughnuts and Cakesmiths.
